The European Medicines Agency (EMA) recently released its <\/span>2024 Annual Report<\/b><\/a>, offering a comprehensive overview of regulatory achievements, innovation drivers, and systemic priorities across Europe\u2019s healthcare ecosystem. Beyond the headline figures\u2014114 human medicines recommended, 25 new veterinary authorisations, and significant progress on the EU reform agenda\u2014the report delivers a clear strategic signal:<\/span><\/p>\n

Data and digital technology, particularly AI, are becoming foundational to regulatory science and supply chain resilience.<\/b><\/p>\n

The challenges of medicine shortages, increasingly complex supply networks, and public health demands are prompting regulators and companies alike to evolve\u2014shifting from compliance to <\/span>resilience as a design principle<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Technology and Trust: EMA\u2019s Embrace of AI<\/b><\/p>\n

A striking element in the 2024 report is how EMA is integrating <\/span>artificial intelligence<\/b> across its operations. From AI-supported pharmacovigilance and regulatory dossier review to real-world evidence analysis through DARWIN EU\u00ae, the Agency is laying the groundwork for <\/span>more dynamic, data-driven oversight<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The EMA\u2019s continued investment in the <\/span>One Health<\/b> framework is another sign of convergence: environmental, animal, and human health are no longer treated as silos.
